MISSING FOR THREE YEARS!

“GAA were recently contacted by a lady who has had a black cat visiting her garden for quite some time. Following a chance conversation with her neighbour, who also had a black cat, it soon became clear that her neighbours cat and the one visiting her garden were actually two separate cats. She contacted us immediately for help, which we were more than happy to give.

We asked for a photograph of the cat, and on receiving it we recognised her, down to the white tufts in her ears, as a possible lost cat from 3 years ago in that same area. Although this little cat was very nervous, she would allow the lady to pat her head gently, if anyone came near she would run away. We took down a microchip scanner and with the aid of this lovely lady, her husband, and some tasty treats, the cat was able to be scanned for a microchip. Imagine everyone’s delight and surprise when the database confirmed that this was Pixie, a beautiful, shy girl who was last seen by her family on 9 July 2014 at Les Landes, Vale.

The next task was trying to catch Pixie. We took down a humane cat trap, as she couldn’t be caught by hand due to her being so nervous. Very sadly, her owner is no longer able to take Pixie back, but she was extremely helpful in catching this darling girl 🐾

🔶PIXIE WAS LESS THAN 5 MINUTES FROM HOME, SHE HAD BEEN MISSING FOR OVER 3 YEARS🔶

If you think you have a stray cat on your property, we at Guernsey Animal Aid are more than happy to come and scan for a microchip. Out there, we have desperate owners who have never given up hope on finding their lost cat. Please call, and don’t just leave it. We have so many cats missing on our books, and our ultimate aim is to reunite any cat with its family.”
